Item Planning biodiesel production from waste vegetable oils(NATIONAL HIGHER SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING -ANNABA, 2024) BRAHMI Nour El Imene; BENDEBANE Salima (Encadrant)Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from animal fats and vegetable oils. Heterogeneous nanocatalysts are increasingly used in its production due to their efficiency and ability to reduce processing costs. This study investigates the use of waste cooking oil to produce biodiesel, by developing in a first step a solid and stable catalyst. To this end, a mixing plan application was considered. In the second part, biodiesel production was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). A maximum yield of 97.1% was achieved with an ethanol/oil ratio of 10.83:1, a catalyst concentration of 3% and a reaction time of 3 hours. The biodiesel produced was also found to conform to ASTM D6571 standards. So, it can be said that the synthesized mixed oxide catalyst has a high efficiency for the production of biodiesel from waste cooking oil. The catalysts were characterized by various techniques, including FTIR and SEM-EDS.Item Simulation, analysis and optimization of the Net Gas Absorbing System of the Catalytic Reforming unit (U100) of RA1K(NATIONAL HIGHER SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING -ANNABA, 2024) ZAIDI Ghozlane Rihane; BENDEBANE Salima (Encadrant)The gas resulting from catalytic reforming operation is rich in hydrogen and contains a small fraction of heavy hydrocarbons, this fraction is reduced in an absorption-stripping system that uses solvent rich in xylenes. The main objective of this study is to conduct a sensitivity analysis of the absorption process to optimize it. The study is based on simulation performed using Aspen HYSYS software and results were generated by taking into account the gas composition in both the design case and the real case.
