Abstract
Solar technologies are developing as a possible answer for meeting the rising need for sustainable energy, turning solar energy directly into electricity. However, the efficiency and profitability of solar power systems are dependent on their capacity to properly absorb and convert solar energy, which is difficult owing to the nonlinear nature of solar generators and the fluctuation of weather conditions. Effective management of this energy source necessitates major technological breakthroughs, particularly in energy conversion and storage. This emphasizes the crucial necessity of the maximum power point (MPPT), which improves solar panel performance by continually modifying the operating point in response to environmental fluctuations to maximize energy output. In this context, this work proposes a robust MPPT technique using a double integral sliding mode controller (DISMC) for a stand-alone photovoltaic system, whose aim is to design a new sliding surface to improve the transient response and reach MPP quickly under varying conditions. Modeling of the stand-alone photovoltaic system and simulations were carried out using Matlab/Simulink.
